Pointer public evidence

3Dogs Citation Observatory

A catalog for what Pointer observed—not a pile of synthetic answers. Each record states the engine, query family, recorded counts and observation date without filling evidence gaps with model prose.

What the records establish

A record can establish that a named probe ran and which citations were recorded at that time. A zero means no citation was recorded in that bounded run; it does not prove that an engine can never cite the source. Historical observations can become stale and must be rerun before they support a current claim.

How agents should use the catalog

Enumerate the current catalog with the public MCP list_public_datasets tool at https://app.3dogs.ai/mcp. Treat individual records as evidence objects, not as answers to their page-title questions. Wave 0 preserves their current public indexability while adding self-canonicals, explicit limitations and contextual discovery; later editorial answers require separate sourced review.

Publication standard

Every preserved record must remain truthful about its observation window, query and engine identity, cited URLs, provenance and limitations. A downloadable distribution or raw artifact may be advertised only when it actually exists. Indexability does not convert an observation into an answer or validate the cited sources.

The Citation Observatory catalogs 200 indexable, self-canonical Dataset routes: 133 query-level citation-observation records, 66 engine-and-topic aggregate observation datasets, and one corpus-level rival-source rollup. The /dataset/ DataCatalog hub is additional and is not counted in the 200. These routes are evidence objects, not editorial answers.
